Meet The Team – Craig Hamilton

It’s been a busy few months for Great Annual Savings (GAS), with record-breaking numbers of new colleagues joining the Group. As we always strive to put our people first, we’ve been touching base with those who recently joined Team GAS to see how they’re settling in.

In this piece, we catch up with Craig Hamilton, Business Development Manager (Partnerships).

Why did you choose to join the GAS family?

I was aware of the rapid growth of The Great Annual Savings Group through a previous role as Sales Manager at Industrial Workwear Ltd. Unfortunately no one wears uniforms at GAS so we just admired the growth from afar on social media!  I also have a friend who works at GAS, he’s always been very complimentary and positive about the company and his role, so when he mentioned the new BDM role at Spennymoor Town FC I jumped at the chance to apply.

I was fortunate enough to be offered the position and it’s been a great start so far. GAS’s plans for future growth, even in these difficult times, together with their ethical stance and focus on employee wellbeing were a major factor in applying and accepting the offered role.  The opportunity to help businesses identify cost savings and at the same time financially support Spennymoor Town FC’s Academy and many more grassroot football clubs is extremely rewarding.

Why should people consider a sales role within GAS?

Although I’ve only been at GAS for 3 months it’s very evident that employee welfare and wellbeing is of high priority to the management team. The new state of the art 80,000 sq ft office, soon to be opened at Seaham, is proof if needed that GAS are committed to their growth plans and with a fully subsidised gym, restaurant, e-gaming zone and zen rooms, it’s obvious that the employees are at the forefront of the plans. Personally I’ve been made to feel like a valued member of the team and well supported throughout my first months. With a very competitive commission structure hard work is definitely rewarded.

What do you feel has made you successful in your role with GAS?

My Role as a BDM (Partnerships) relies heavily on relationship building, trust and integrity.

By supporting my partners they support me.
By being honest with my partners they trust me with their business referrals.
By treating my partners referrals with integrity and respect I will build a stronger and more successful partnerships.

Approaching my partnerships with a strategy and sticking to it is also helping, my partners understand the short, medium and long term goals and we all know our roles and expectations within the structure of the partnership.

What are your longer term career ambitions within the GAS family?

I’d love to continue working with Spennymoor Town FC Academy and would be keen to extend my successful partnership model to other sporting and grassroot facilities across the UK by helping to develop a team to focus on this specific partnership strategy.  I’m also focused on becoming a member of the Platinum Club at GAS by bringing in over 500k of business in my first year!
