ACHIEVING GREATNESS TOGETHER

Here at GAS, when we say we look after our people physically, financially and emotionally, we really mean it.

We don’t use the term ‘GAS Family’ lightly. Our family ethos is built around everyone working together to achieve a common goal:

Greatness for our people and our customers.

Financial.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Great Annual Savings Group (GAS) has taken steps to protect our staff and their families.

Having furloughed the majority of the workforce, the Group’s Board elected to “top-up” all wages from the 80 per cent paid by the government’s Job Retention Scheme to 100 per cent.

This helped ease the financial pressure on families and lightened the considerable stress our people will have been experiencing during the crisis.

Physical.

The Group’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) have created a Covid-compliant return-to-work plan for GAS staff all over the country.

This involves a series of investments in the business’ current office space to allow social distancing at desks and when moving around rooms.

The plan includes new guidance, protocols and processes which will ensure staff are safe and reduce the risk of transmission of the virus, over and above the guidelines set out by the government.

Emotional.

COVID-19

There has to be some light at the end of the tunnel in times of crisis.  At GAS we are keeping the excitement for our future alive by reiterating the Group’s commitment to planned growth.

We have used lockdown’s most popular forms of communication to stay in touch with our staff regularly to issue updates from the leadership and keep spirits high.

Coming months will see the launch of a one-of-a-kind employee Wealth Creation Scheme and the development of our stunning new cliff-top headquarters in County Durham.  This will take GAS’ office space past 80,000 square feet and means that there is even more opportunity just around the corner.

JOIN THE FAMILY

We asked the GAS family how they continued to live the GAS life from home during lockdown.

Friend of GAS, Jason Bryne, dropped by (virtually) to keep spirits and fitness levels high for our homeworking colleagues.

Bradley GrovesChief Executive & Founder

Having founded GAS in 2012, Brad has overseen the company’s huge growth in a short space of time. Starting from modest surroundings in South Shields, rapid progress has seen the business move to its current office in Seaham, which is being expanded across the business park to create an 80,000 square foot GAS campus, featuring one of the finest headquarters buildings outside of London and Manchester.

The majority of Brad’s career has been spent on the boards of FTSE companies, at board level in the private sector and in turnaround private equity.  He was Group MD of Caudwell Group and worked on its sale in 2006 for £1.5 billion.

Brad says:

"Certain businesses we’ve worked with have made six-figure savings over their contract terms. We cover the widest range of business variable costs in the market in one place.  When we get involved with a company, it allows them to focus on their core business.  The extra time we allow them to spend on their strategies can often prove as valuable as the cash we save them."

Brad is the proud Owner and Chief Executive of Spennymoor Town Football Club, who have achieved four promotions and eleven trophies since his takeover in 2009.  His interests outside of business and sport include a passion for animal welfare and he has been an avid dog owner for decades.

Judith says:

"Businesses who are pro-active continually look at managing their costs effectively, those who wait until a recession hits, are reactive and often too late. We want companies to be pro-active and take the pain away by saving costs now, letting GAS do the fully managed cost solution just makes good business sense for any company, whatever the size or industry. Our business ethos is something I truly believe in and want every company to benefit from our help and support, working collaboratively together is a great way to build long term relationships.”
