Helping build better businesses

Great Annual Savings Group (GAS) is celebrating two years of helping businesses grow sustainably, through partnership with Joe Halliday Recruitment.

Both organisations have strong customer bases in the manufacturing sector, where GAS successfully operates in a hotbed for cost saving possibilities.

Joe Halliday specialises in engineering, manufacturing and warehouse recruitment, where it has built a reputation working with companies in the North East.

The partnership works on referrals between Joe Halliday and GAS’ UK and Ireland division.

Michelle Lightfoot, Director at Joe Halliday, established the business in 2016 after returning to work from maternity leave.  She was aware of GAS’ own growth and had contacts within the Group.  Initial discussions were successful, and a partnership agreement was drawn up in order to ensure integrity and the protection of customer data.

Lightfoot said: “The commercial world is full of companies like GAS and Joe Halliday.  But we think that genuine recommendations can certainly help our customers, with whom we have built excellent relationships through customer service, trust and transparency.

“We value our customers’ privacy highly, meaning we’ll only make very careful introductions to GAS that we think are of benefit.  We look forward to helping our growing contacts in ways outside of recruitment.

“Since working together, many Joe Halliday customers have benefited from working with GAS and all have been delighted with reductions in their yearly business costs.  Additionally, GAS has helped them with energy management services to become more energy efficient.”

GAS has also expanded on energy work through Joe Halliday, helping their customers with cost reduction consultancy around waste management, telecoms, insurance, water costs and other procurement.

Mark Jones, Associate Business Solutions Director (UK and Ireland) at GAS, said: “Both firms can offer distinct value in the growth phase of the business life cycle.  It is this niche which formed the basis for our partnership.

“We often work with businesses which are looking to maintain control over their costs whilst growing headcount and we have a strong background in working with manufacturers.  We’re well-aware that recruiting the best staff is extremely difficult, so we see it as another area we can help our customers progress and augment our services further.

“I hope we can build a reputation in the industry as a pair.”
