Great Annual Savings Group (GAS) has reached a new milestone, welcoming its 5,000th customer.
The Seaham-based cost reduction specialist has accelerated growth plans after adding more than 80 new staff members during February.
There are now 5,248 businesses working with GAS, which is adding more than 400 new customers per month to its portfolio.
As the business prepares to move into its eighth year of trading, it is ahead of schedule. As well as a rapid increase in customers taking advantage of the Group’s cost reduction services, its headcount is now nearing 300.
A focus on excellent account management and a pro-active approach to spotting extra opportunities for savings has led to strong customer retention numbers and an increase in the number of businesses who use more than one of GAS’ services.
Out of the businesses for which it is suitable, 87 per cent of the customer base also use GAS’ bespoke Monitoring and Targeting system to quantify their energy use. This allows them to pinpoint areas of his consumption and maximise savings further.
Phil Andrew, Associate Director of Customer Experience, said: “It has been an intense few months at GAS with such a large intake of new staff at the start of the year. What’s been pleasing is that our systems and processes have stood up to the larger volume of work we’ve brought in.
“As well as sheer volume, we’re branching out into more diverse areas of business development. We’ve launched exciting new partnerships with some of the region’s household business names and expanded our proportion of national sales. We’re receiving more enquiries coming into the business than ever before, which is a good indicator of brand growth.
“Equally, we’re seeing more and more of our customers use our experts to address a range of areas, which is what our strapline of ‘saving you more, on more’ means.
“We’ve positioned ourselves very specifically in the industry and we expect to see the benefits of this in our next financial year.
“Above all, it’s an exciting time for our staff. With greater headcount comes greater opportunities for them and we’ll be continuing to welcome new people to the GAS family well into the future.”
