‘Tis the season to be generous at The Great Annual Savings Group as staff got into the Christmas spirit on Friday and raised money for the national Text Santa campaign in the process.
Our monthly ‘Feel Fab Friday’ initiative saw staff at the Group don their finest festive numbers for Christmas jumper day and sell slices of delicious homemade cakes. The Group rewarded employees’ considerable efforts by matching the cash raised, resulting of a final total of £386 donated to Text Santa.
The campaign will split this donation between Macmillan, Make-A-Wish-UK and Save The Children.
Cake Sale Elf -GeorginaThe Idea to help Text Santa came from Georgina Lee, Business Solutions Manager, who also took part in the day by selling a homemade cake and dressing up as a Christmas Elf.
She said: “I was really pleased with how many staff got involved and wore a jumper – there were some great ones around the place.
“The cakes were lovely and I managed not to burn mine, which is a bonus, so overall it was a fab day.”
A double prize was handed out to joint winners Kerry Thorpe, Sales Administration Manager, and Dan Lake, Business Administration Manager, for best Christmas jumper and you can spot a few of the finest displayed on our Twitter feed, along with further coverage of the day.
Dan said: “It’s great to raise money for charities, especially when you see where the donation goes. It was nice to win top prize too, but the main thing was enjoying the day at work with colleagues and raising some money for charity.”
Having proved a hit with staff, we have continued with Feel Fab Fridays to thank employees for their hard work during the month and have been thrilled to receive regular suggestions from around the Group for themes.
