Great health and wellbeing underpins GAS future plans

Just as Great Annual Savings Group (GAS) provides peace of mind to business owners around the UK, the Group’s colleagues will get a healthy dose with a dedicated team of health professionals at hand to offer expert advice.

The Group’s multi-million pound development of its 80,000 square foot campus has already excited colleagues with the announcement of a subsidised catering facility and a state-of-the-art gym. But there are plenty more surprises in store as the national firm continues to develop the project around employee wellbeing.

One of the key components in the strategy will see a team of dedicated health professionals working on a consultative basis to promote optimal health and wellbeing for all GAS colleagues.

GAS will be recruiting its own Group Health and Wellbeing Manager as part of the dedicated team, accessible to all colleagues across the UK. This professional will be a resource for the whole Group and will work closely on physical and emotional wellbeing for colleagues across the whole of the UK.

As well as an asset to colleagues’ wellbeing, possessing such a professional within the Group will provide expert workplace advice in the post-Covid world and contribute to GAS’ constantly evolving Covid compliance plan.

Judith Bennison, Group HR Director, said: “The country-wide benefits we are introducing are of a standard you would usually associate with a PLC.

“I have worked with international organisations on occupational health programmes and we are now preparing a programme of benefits for our colleagues of a level exceeding this.

“Having our own Health and Wellbeing team will be something many of our colleagues have never experienced and will form an integral part of the holistic physical, financial and emotional wellbeing offer we are creating.

“We are working on innovative ways to make this benefit accessible no matter where you live in the country.

“Together with our modern GASTRO catering facility; our GASfit Centre; the financial advice we already offer colleagues; and our blossoming benefits strategy, you can begin to see the level of support we will be offering to those who work for GAS and their families.

“We already receive excellent scores on our employee engagement research for the benefits we offer; so we’re looking forward to rolling the entirety of the new strategy out and watching our colleagues enjoy it.”

GAS colleagues will be moving into the new premises before the end of 2020 and will enjoy a re-vamped benefits strategy, which will strengthen the Group’s position as an employer of choice for ambitious B2B professionals.
