Following our recent news article about the sponsorship of Hetton Lyons Cricket Club, another local grassroots sport project has been delivered through Great Annual Saving and the GF Community Foundation.
The Foundation has created a partnership with Hetton Juniors Football Club, providing funding which has allowed the club to purchase coats for their coaches and junior players.
Christopher Hughes, Chairman and Head of Player Development at Hetton Juniors Football Club, said: “We’re thrilled with the ongoing support from Great Annual Savings Group and GF Community Foundation.
The support has arrived just in time for the resumption of grassroots sports following a difficult period of multiple COVID lockdowns and the help from Brad, Phil and the team is gratefully appreciated.”
Phil Andrew, Corporate Director at Great Annual Savings Group, added: “I was delighted to visit the Hetton Juniors ground recently and see the children sporting their new training wear.
It’s humbling to know that as principal partners of SAFC, the GAS Group is still able to invest in the future of grassroots clubs, and I’m looking forward to seeing the positive impact that the GF Community Foundation will have on sporting communities across the North East.”
Spearheaded by CEO and Chairman of GAS Brad Groves, the GF Community Foundation has been created to address key social issues in four areas across County Durham and Sunderland.
The Foundation will invest in local people to revive communities by restoring hope, encouraging people to make positive changes and reignite community spirit.
