Great Annual Savings is doing its bit to help regenerate Sunderland’s city centre after buying £250 worth of clean-up equipment for one of our partners, Sunderland BID.
The collaborative project, which will see thousands of students embark on a pop-up clean-up campaign, has been set up between Sunderland’s Business Improvement District, Sunderland College and Sunderland Council.
The scheme, named 100 Quick Wins, will see a ton of jobs completed, including the painting of shutters and litter picking, which will allow the council to focus on bigger tasks and longer-term ambitions.
Around 3000 young people from Sunderland College will join forces with Sunderland BID, who, as well as helping enhance the city, will also be involved in providing the entertainment and supporting various events during the campaign.
Phil Andrew, Head of Customer Experience at Great Annual Savings, speaking after the £250 donation, said: “It’s great to have the opportunity to help out Sunderland city centre.
“The money we have donated towards equipment will not only help make a difference during the initiative, but we are also playing our part in the long-term regeneration of Sunderland and the community.
“It gives us great satisfaction to know we are helping Sunderland become a more vibrant place to live and work in.”
